Re:Start UA is a hybrid education program, that enables displaced people from Ukraine to start social businesses in Germany and help rebuilding their home country. Participants get hands-on knowledge about entrepreneurship, sustainability, and funding. The program provides access to a digital learning platform, offline workshops, and personal mentoring.
The program focuses on creating business models with high Public Value. This means, the core business idea tackles a problem for society or prevent one from appearing in the future. This includes sectors such as education, mental health, social integration, art, and infrastructure. Through the program participants receive a toolbox of skills as well as a tangible plan how to create added value for the public.
Our digital education platform Public Value Academy provides participants with 12 in-depth learning modules. They are covering the basics of entrepreneurship, such as prototyping, business modeling, and marketing. Three of the modules will deep dive into specific aspects of Public Value such as, sustainability, impact, and social innovation. The self-learning will be accompanied by weekly group-meetings with international experts from these fields.
Five additional full-day workshops in different locations provide the participants with opportunities to put their knowledge to work. With the support of external mentors, they build their business models, set up websites and create pitch decks. The workshops also foster social and networking events with companies, administrations, research facilities, and investors. The program ends with a public pitch event at Mach'n Festival 2023 in Leipzig.
This project is co-funded by the L-Gruppe and private donations.
