Re:Start UA is a hybrid education program, that enables displaced people from Ukraine to start social businesses in Germany and help rebuilding their home country. Participants will get hands-on knowledge about entrepreneurship, sustainability, and funding. The program provides access to a digital learning platform, offline workshops, and personal mentoring.
The program focuses on creating business models with high Public Value. This means, the core business idea should tackle a problem for society or prevent one from appearing in the future. This could include sectors such as education, health, media, energy, or public administration. Through the program participants will receive a toolbox of skills as well as a tangible plan how to create added value for the public.
Our digital education platform Public Value Academy will provide participants with 12 in-depth learning modules. They are covering the basics of entrepreneurship, such as business modeling, marketing, and legal requirements. Three of the modules will deep dive into specific aspects of Public Value such as leadership, sustainability, and social impact. The self-learning will be accompanied by weekly group-meetings with international experts from these fields.
Three additional on-site weekend workshops in different locations will provide the participants with opportunities to put their knowledge to work. With the support of external mentors, they will build their business models, set up websites and create pitch decks. The workshops will also foster social and networking events with companies, administrations, research facilities, and investors. The program will end with a public pitch event.
This project is co-funded by the L-Gruppe and private donations from the Leipziger Crowd.
